When Vicki Broadbent (@Honestmum) contacted me as she and her friend Rachael were interested in a Colour Analysis session with me, we quickly got booked in and the following week I arrived at Vicki’s mums house in Leeds, who to my delight had baked an incredible cake for the occasion!

Sustainable Style Swap returned for its 6th event York at Pitcher & Piano with stunning riverside views and was hosted by myself Laura Fawcett & Sara Anson.

You may have seen my latest Instagram styling reels where I shared some of my key staples from my wardrobe and I had so many messages about this topic with so many of you saying how much you enjoyed it and found it useful, which was so lovely to hear.

I really do love the start of a fresh year, I find it is the time for me to refocus on goals and plan ahead for my business after recharging and winding down over Christmas. 

As the first signs of autumn appear my thoughts quickly turn to planning my footwear, taking me from sandals and straight into boots.

With spring fully under way and a warm British summer on the horizon (always the optimist!) now is the time to review your lighter footwear. So why not book that pedicure in and get ready to bear those toes because sandal season has officially arrived.

With spring is on the horizon now is the perfect time to review the transitional staple items in your wardrobe. These are the pieces that bridge the ‘in between season’ gap when it comes to dressing and can be relied on time and time again, for years to come.

To celebrate International Women’s Day I’m really excited to share some of my favourite female owned brands, all founded by women. It shouldn’t take days like this to encourage us to share the love days like this and I’m going to make a conscious effort to to continue this more often.

As we are all still experiencing spending much more time at home than we ever anticipated, over the next month or so (maybe when the snow has passed!) is the perfect time of year to pencil in a date with your wardrobe for a seasonal refresh.

Over the last two years my passion for sustainable style has lead me to host a number of ‘Sustainable Style Swap’ events in York and to date this has enabled over a thousand items of clothing to be saved from potential landfill and given a fresh lease of life in a new home.

With so many of us now working from home, I ask is this way of dressing while working going to provide us with the energy and motivation to perform to our best abilities?

You may have heard the term ‘DOPAMINE DRESSING’ in recent years. The discussion around how our mood and how we feel about ourselves can be impacted by what we choose to wear is something that I am a strong believer in.

As some of you may know along with my personal styling business I also have recently started a new job in an office which is a totally new environment for me and it got me thinking about my wardrobe in a different way.

I am an all or nothing type of person so when I decided to host my very own event for York Fashion Week I knew that it was going to be ambitious, maybe a little bit too much to handle at times but it was either that or nothing – so I went for it.
