Wardrobe Edit & Restyle

If you have a wardrobe full of clothes but ‘nothing to wear’ and feel uninspired by what you see, I have two services to choose from that will help you to make sense of your signature style and set you on the right path to stepping out with confidence each day.

You may be feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of clothing that you don't wear, or you have a wardrobe of clothes that you are fond of, but are lacking inspiration on how to style them in order to get more wear out of what you already own.
Whatever style dilemmas you are facing, here is where I can help....

Option 1: Wardrobe Declutter

We are all guilty of holding onto clothes in our wardrobes that we haven’t worn for years, or have never worn at all. A cluttered and overcrowded wardrobe can often make selecting outfits stressful and overwhelming.

A wardrobe declutter is aimed at creating space & order and letting go of clothing that no longer serves you. You will be left with an organised and tidy space, the ability to see the wood for the trees and have a clearer picture of what works for you as an individual.

Option 2: Wardrobe Restyle

(Signature Style Session)

If you are tired of the same outfit combinations on repeat and need a fresh pair of eyes to provide inspiration and restyle your key pieces, a wardrobe restyle & refresh is a sustainable approach to styling and will breathe new life into your wardrobe.

The session involves creating multiple outfit combinations by restyling your existing clothing, mixing up accessories and footwear. Photographs will be taken of each outfit for future reference and the aim is to take the stress out of dressing every day.

This an ideal session to be carried out twice a year, ideally as the weather changes to prepare you for the season ahead.

In addition here is what to expect from either wardrobe edit experience;

  • Create a shopping list of identified missing items that will fill in the gaps in order to create a perfectly formed mix and match wardrobe
  • Discover your true style personality and how to reflect this through your clothing.
  • Work through your wardrobe and help you to differentiate what is currently working well for you and why, from what isn’t, from body shape & fit to colours that suit your complexion.
  • Come up with new outfit combinations by working with the clothing that you already own
  • Share with you my top styling tips and tricks and demonstrate how your clothes can be styled in different ways.
  • Advise on which items are worth selling versus which items can be donated
  • You will be left with a tidy, categorised & workable wardrobe that will be a joy to open each morning
  • You will receive a personalised style summary follow up email detailing what we discovered throughout the session.

I will guide you through each step so you are confident in maintaining your own wardrobe and maximise it’s potential going forward.

If working with a stylist is new to you then a wardrobe edit experience is the perfect place to start.

Over the years I have gradually expanded my personal and work wardrobe, collecting lots of favourite items over the seasons and the years. Naturally I am a bit of a hoarder (especially with clothes) and as time passed it became more and more difficult to find the perfect item for a special occasion or the right item for work or a night out even though I had a large and varied wardrobe.
Finally the time came to do something about it I and found it a daunting task as I was not sure of the best way to de-clutter my wardrobe whilst keeping the right number of pieces for work, pleasure and special occasions.
Being a passionate follower of fashion I have shopped in Leeds, Manchester and York and met Laura as she worked for a number of fashion outlets that I used to visit. Over time Laura would proactively note pieces that she felt would suit me and fitted with my personal style. Then one day as I was out and about in Leeds I bumped into Laura who told me about her new venture as a Personal Stylist.
I told Laura of my dilemma of finding the best way to de-clutter and focus my wardrobe and she volunteered to help.
The de-cluttering process started with me filling in a questionnaire that Laura provided which highlighted my 5 favourite items of clothing from my three full wardrobes of clothes.
On the day Laura brought a very large clothes rail with 3 sections, ditchers, fixers and keepers and we began sorting my piles of clothes into each of the sections with Laura getting me to try individual items so she could see how they fit. When we first started I thought we would never get through the huge pile of clothes, but Laura focussed on tops, dresses, knitwear and we soon got through the lot.
It was actually really good fun.
Laura was really patient but incredibly focussed on getting the clothes into order. We had really good fun and at the end we had three different piles of clothes, one for charity, one for alterations and the other pile neatly put away in my wardrobe colour coded.
I am delighted with my organised, tidy, de-cluttered wardrobe sorted now by clothes types ie: jumpers, dresses, knitwear.
As we went through the de-clutter Laura made a list of any basic items she recommended to supplement my wardrobe which included Breton stripe and basic white tops which meant very little investment was required to achieve this.
I shall definitely be using the services of Laura again, both to keep my wardrobe tip top and also to update my own style via a personal shopping trip with Laura to help me to put together my winter wardrobe….
Thanks a million Laura – you are a star X
