With clothing stores due to resume trading again over from Monday 15th June in reality shopping is not going to be as we knew it before, maybe for quite some time. Restrictions will be in place limiting the number of shoppers, the possibility of queues to make returns and changing rooms remaining closed. Now more than ever it is important that we have a plan of what we really NEED to buy before we shop to avoid making impulse purchases, which often lead to wasting time and money.
If you have found the time over the last couple of months to detox your wardrobe you may already have an idea of what is missing or needs replacing. If not, now is the time to do it and create a wish list on your phone to refer back to when out in stores or shopping online. It can be so easy to get carried away especially with the added thrill of being back in a store which could lead to coming away with poorly thought out choices, especially when there are hefty discounts on offer.
Stores will be slashing the prices of the spring summer collections so try not to be tempted by reduced clothing unless you know for sure that you feel fabulous in it. I always say “It is only a bargain if you actually wear it!”
Sales can be such a great opportunity to invest in a higher priced classic piece for your wardrobe that usually you may not have been able to justify, so before stepping into the stores do your homework online first to see what there is to offer across multiple brands.
Before buying always consider what you already own and come up with 3 different ways that you can wear every new purchase. Also address if the colour really suits you (does it make your eyes pop and your skin glow?), ensure the shape makes you feel comfortable, is the fabric appropriate for this time of year and most importantly – does it make you FEEL HAPPY?! If not, put it back.
While my face to face services remain on hold until it’s safe to resume, over the last few months I have moved my services online to include virtual signature style sessions & online personal shopping. I am also offering limited express styling sessions where you will have one hour of dedicated time with me to go over an area of your wardrobe that you require help with – such as a trying on session to ask my opinion on recent online purchases, creating a few new outfit combinations from your existing wardrobe or if you are an existing client building on previous looks that we have created together. This service is £45 for one hour.
Please do get in touch if you would like to book a virtual session as limited times are available each week.
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing a list of the wardrobe staples that I feel every woman should own in their wardrobes and providing inspiration on how to style them in different ways to achieve maximum wearability from your clothes!
Stay tuned and stay safe .
Love Laura xx
